About Us
About Scandinavian Decorating
Scandinavian Decorating was founded on a simple belief: the right light can change the way an entire room feels. A home should be peaceful, welcoming, and unique; and most times, this starts with the lights in it.
Table lamps were our choice because they perform subtle and crucial tasks. A lamp can define a space into a reading corner, create a cozy evening, and define the ambiance of a room. Lighting is most of the time designed to be photogenic but fails to make sense when put in a room. We wanted to take the complete opposite path and think about how a room makes someone feel.
All our processes are influenced by Scandinavian design philosophy of minimalism and honesty of materials and design. We don't want good design to be attention-grabbing; instead, it should be subtle and improve the quality of your daily life.
Our Approach
Each selection does not just depend on how it looks, but how good it is at emitting light as well. Each object is chosen both for its aesthetic qualities and for the quality of light that it produces. We favor objects made from natural materials, honest workmanship, and timelessly beautiful forms.
The question we ask ourselves is “Will it make us feel good about it months after, and not only at the very moment when we open it?” before we add anything new to our collection. We won’t put the lamp into the collection if it does not make us feel cozy and familiar. Our goal is to make the collection dependable and useful for you. We aim to build a collection that you can trust to make your life easy.
Our Mission
Our intention is to add tasteful and warm lights into our traditional homes. We hope that your lamps will carry the same weight whether it is just an ordinary Tuesday or any special occasion, and we believe that selecting the right lamp should be an easy task and enjoyable process.
Our Vision
In order to be a trustworthy brand that relies on simplicity, quality and warmth. We begin our journey with table lamps, and build one item at a time into a total collection for your home, still relying on the Scandinavian philosophy. Products that will remain relevant not only through seasons, but also through trends, and are made to last.
